This weekend I drove to Atlanta to attend The Curvy Fashionista Style Expo. I don’t know if you follow me on Snapchat @tfasblog, but all of my Atlanta adventures were documented on the app. I had a really good time at Marie’s Denee’s event even though my day got off to a very rocky start.

I don’t know if you have been following the shows and trends lately, but there seems to be some kind of clash going on between the 90s and the 70s. Some of you favorite styles-and many that you hated- from the 90s are coming back full force, but coming in neck in neck with them is the 70s. Culottes in various lengths of short are back, suedes and animal prints, platforms, and even bell bottoms are coming back. Are you ready for the 70s trend? Is it something you are going to attempt come this fall? I might. We shall see how it goes. Photos from the Georgine PR reps and Style.com.
I love street style photos. They give me outfit inspiration. I saw a bunch of jeans that had the bottom cut off of them last season, so I just cut the bottom off of my jeans as well. This look right here is perfect for those crisp, cold days. There is something very 70s about it. 70s style trends were all over the NYFW runways. Now I need to find a blanket, so I can get my 70s on. Photo by Tommy Ton for Style.com.
I wish I was near Atlanta. Plus size store Ashley Stewart is having a #LOVEYOURCURVES tour featuring Marie Denee from The Curvy Fashionista and more special guests. They are also giving away two scholarships. Great right? Yea it is. You better get yourself together, call your friends and head out to Ashley Stewart’s #LOVEYOURCURVES tour.
UK brand boohoo lands in NYC for a pop up shop in Soho for two weeks. You have ample time to see the brand in person if you are in the tri-state area. I wish I was in the city right now so I could go shop the pop up shop. Y’all know I love me some Boohoo. If you can’t make the pop up shop, head on over to boohoo.
The Olsen twins rocked the Met Gala on Monday night. Both Mary-Kate and Ashley wore vintage Chanel, and were one a just a few people that really followed the actual theme for the night that was based on designer Charles James. I know you don’t necessarily have to follow the theme, but I do wish more of the men wore white tie (tuxedo with tails and a top hat) like the invitation instructed, and I think a lot of the ladies could have worn more ball gowns.
Of all the times to show up in a big poofy ball gown, this was it. I did however like Cara Delevigne’s pants situation. Charles James’ garments always tripped me out because I could never figure out how they were constructed. He was the genius that influenced Dior’s New Look.
