This Black Wool Combo Coat from Hakaan is perfect because I am in love with the combo coat for winter. It is too chic! Unfortunately this coat comes in only three sizes on the Stylebop website and it costs $2935. 🙁 That my friends is a supreme sad face with some whomp whomp thrown in. A girl can dream though…
Balmain was not as good as I thought it would be. I was expecting Christophe Decarnin to stop taking the “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” approach, but I see that isn’t happening anytime soon. The same skinny pants and boxy jackets were there. The only thing that changed was the fact that they were a different color, and he finally stopped making those short, boxy, bodcon dresses.
Gareth Pugh was really good. It looked very creepy to me, but creepy in a good way. His makeup and hair always complements his collection. The shapes and color scheme were purely Pugh, but unlike Balmain, something seemed different. It reminded me of a space ghost, no not the cartoon.
I loved Limi Feu. That collection full of wide shapes and big hair was so cool to me. Limi Yamamoto really took what she learned from her dad and is making it her own. The collection was so classic to me.
Hakaan was another collection bathed in white. I am not really a fan of wearing white clothes all the time, but these designers are really making white look appealing to me. The pantsuits were amazing. Living up to the hype is hard, but Hakaan is doing it well.
London Fashion Week is halfway through. As usual London Fashion Week is the smallest of all the major fashion weeks, but creates some of the most creative looks. Bodyamr presented some amazing Grecian inspired clothes with wonderful draping. Hakaan showed excellent, architectural, and very short dresses that are great for the girl who wants to show her legs no matter how cold it is. The thing that pissed me off was Mark Fast. I am glad that Mark Fast uses plus size models in his shows, but just like last season, he decided to put them in completely unflattering clothes. I mean his clothes don’t look all that great on the regular models either, but I thought he would have learned his lesson from last season. Put the models in clothes that fit. Don’t just stuff them into clothes that purposely make them look fat to draw attention to that fact that you use plus size models. Photos from London Fashion Week.
